• The 1990s Hooped Ancestry:
  
  
  The design draws its visual framework from the club’s original 1990s era, specifically the white-base hooped away jerseys worn during the Super League and early NRL years (1997–1999). While the inaugural 1995 away shirt featured massive blue chevron blocks, the subsequent hooped strips introduced clean horizontal bar divisions that allowed the iconic royal blue, white, red, and green palette to sit in sharp, crisp contrast.
  
  
• Toi Ake Tā Moko Artwork:
  
  
  Sublimated inside the wide blue chest and body bands is custom Māori artwork designed by Gisborne artists Maia Gibbs and Henare Brooking of Toi Ake Studio. Created specifically for the team’s away travels, the pattern speaks to the concept of te haerenga (the voyage/journey). It symbolises a war party departing across the ocean to unfamiliar territory, bound together to face tough challenges, represent their people with honour, and return home safely.

• The Magic Round Thriller against the Panthers (Round 11):
  
  
  Wearing their alternate strip against three-time defending premiers Penrith at Suncorp Stadium, an injury-hit Warriors side pulled off one of the gutsiest upsets of the year. With Shaun Johnson, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, and Tohu Harris all sidelined, rookie half Taine Tuaupiki and stand-in playmaker Te Maire Martin orchestrated a stunning 22–20 ambush over the Panthers.
