All Blacks Jersey Size Guide: How to Find Your Perfect Fit

Buying your new All Blacks Replica Home Jersey should be exciting, and not a guessing game.

One of the most common questions we hear at RYOS is:

"What size All Blacks jersey should I buy?"

The good news is that choosing the right size is easier than you might think. By taking just a few simple measurements and comparing them with a favourite shirt or jersey you already own, you can order with confidence and enjoy the perfect fit the first time.

This guide explains exactly how we measure our jerseys, what the measurements mean, and how to choose the size that's right for you.

Understanding the All Blacks Jersey Size Chart

Every jersey is measured using three key dimensions:

  • Half Chest
  • Half Waist
  • Length

All measurements are taken in centimetres (cm) with the jersey laid flat on a table.

These measurements provide a far more accurate guide than simply relying on Small, Medium or Large labels, which can vary significantly between clothing brands.

How We Measure Our Jerseys

To ensure consistency, every jersey is measured using the same method.

1. Half Chest

The half chest, or "pit-to-pit", measurement is taken straight across the jersey from one underarm seam to the other while the garment is laid flat.

This is the most important measurement when choosing your size.

2. Half Waist

The Half Waist is measured across the narrowest point of the jersey.

Like the chest measurement, this is taken with the jersey lying flat and represents half of the garment's total circumference.

3. Length

Length is measured from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the bottom hem.

As jersey sizes increase, both the width and length increase proportionally to maintain a comfortable fit.

The Easiest Way to Find Your Perfect Size

Instead of measuring yourself, we recommend measuring a shirt or jersey you already own and love wearing.

It's the quickest and most accurate way to find your ideal size.

Step 1 – Choose Your Favourite Jersey

Pick a rugby jersey, polo shirt or T-shirt that fits exactly the way you like.

Step 2 – Lay It Flat

Place it on a table or flat surface and smooth out any wrinkles.

Step 3 – Measure Three Areas

Using a tape measure, record:

  • Underarm to underarm (Half Chest)
  • Across the waist (Half Waist)
  • Shoulder to bottom hem (Length)

Step 4 – Compare With Our Size Chart

Match those measurements to our sizing guide on the RYOS website and choose the closest size.Β

This method is much more accurate than guessing based on your usual clothing size.

Replica Jersey vs Player Jersey

One question we often receive is:

"Do replica jerseys fit the same as the jerseys the All Blacks wear on the field?"

The answer is no.

The All Blacks Replica Home Jersey is designed specifically for supporters and everyday wear.

That means you'll enjoy:

βœ” A more relaxed fit

βœ” Greater comfort throughout the day

βœ” Plenty of freedom of movement

βœ” Enough room to wear a thermal or T-shirt underneath during the colder months

Professional playing jerseys are designed to fit tightly to reduce grabbing during matches, whereas replica jerseys prioritise comfort for supporters.

Between Two Sizes?

If your measurements sit between sizes, here's a simple guide.

Choose the Smaller Size if you:

  • Prefer a fitted look
  • Don't intend to wear extra layers
  • Are closer to the smaller measurement

Choose the Larger Size if you:

  • Like a relaxed fit
  • Plan to wear a thermal or base layer underneath
  • Prefer extra room around the chest and shoulders
  • Sit closer to the larger measurement

When in doubt, many supporters prefer sizing up for maximum comfort.

Understanding Half Measurements

One point that often confuses is that our sizing chart lists Half Chest and Half Waist measurements.

Because the jersey is measured flat, simply double these figures to estimate the full circumference.

For example:

  • Half Chest = 56cm
  • Approximate Chest Circumference = 112cm

Comparing these measurements to a jersey you already own remains the easiest and most reliable way to select the correct size.
